A Whole New World: Mom Blogging

Blogging, Family, Motherhood / Tuesday, July 6th, 2021

I recently realized that I needed to pick up my blog again. I want to get a little more serious about making this happen!

So here I am, 8 months pregnant with an almost-one-year-old clinging to my ankles, ready to tackle this project yet again. As you may (or may not) know, this blog has been an ongoing saga of start-and-stop for a long time. Now, however, I think I’m ready to give it my all! At least, I certainly hope so. I love blogging, and I really want to make this a consistent thing, especially now that much of what I write about is literally my job: cooking, mothering, and projects around the house.

Here’s the Plan:

I’ve expanded the topics I’ll post about officially on this blog from what it was before (since that’s what I want to do anyway), which gives me more opportunity to create content variety on a regular basis. As much as I love cooking and baking, I do get stuck in a rut sometimes with creating new recipes!

What’s Happening When the New Baby Comes

I’ll just say it now, I’m taking 6 weeks off when this baby comes. Might derail me completely, but… we’ll see! I have no idea what to expect for managing postpartum recovery, a newborn, and a one-year-old… So expect me to be to be absent online for 6 weeks (possibly, we’ll see if I feel like blogging), and then I’ll come back here with some new content and hopefully new wisdom.

Coming Soon

If you’re curious what’s in the works right now, well, here’s a little glimpse: I’m due to have this baby on August 10, so depending on when this little one actually shows up… my plans may change! Regardless, here’s what I’m hoping to share with you all in the coming days:

  1. This year I started gardening! So I want to share a couple of things I’ve learned as well as some things I hope to learn.
  2. I’ll plan to share my post-baby meal plan with you all as soon as I get a chance!
  3. In addition to my post-baby meal plan, I want to get in the habit of sharing my meal plans and shopping lists/tips on here! I hope that if nothing else, it gives you some inspiration for your own cooking in the days ahead.
  4. I’m really thankful for how positive my first birth experience was, and because of that, I’m planning to share the story of my second. So you can look for that, if that interests you! I may also share some resources I found helpful for my home birth as well.
  5. I’ve got a bunch of recipes in my back pocket that I can’t wait to share with you… So stay tuned!

There’s more than that as well, but there’s just a little taste for you. I hope you’ll follow me on this journey!

Thanks for stopping in,

Naomi

P.S. The picture on this post is my daughter Faith, reaching into the frame of a photo I was taking to snag a raspberry. This is the future of blogging for me, I think! Looks like it’s going to be fun. 🙂
