A few months ago, I had the joy of witness two of my friends, Tim and Laura, get married to each other – which was a blessing increased by the opportunity to make the cake for their wedding!

This cake is a 4-layer chocolate cake with white chocolate buttercream, made to look at little “Rough” on the outside for rustic charm, yet precise in its proportions and accented with flowers… which make everything look so beautiful, and romantic. I made this cake in a little apartment building next to the groom’s house in extremely hot temperatures. I’d say, it’s a champion… wouldn’t you? I’m proud of every cake that survives the heat!

One thing I’m always so thankful for is to have great photos of my work after a wedding. I’ve made cakes for many weddings over the years, but it’s unfortunately the case that I don’t always get pictures afterward… which is just kind of sad. At least, it’s sad for me – I love to document my work in that way.

I have such a weakness for beautiful pictures, and everything I’ve seen by Compass Wedding Collective, Tim and Laura’s Photographers, has blown me away. I’m so thankful that my little contribution got have its picture taken, and that the photos are such excellent quality! That said, I’d like to send as many people their way as I can – not only because their photos are super gorgeous, but also because these are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
