Easy Homemade Mini Pizzas [Tutorial]

Food, Recipes, Savoury / Thursday, October 31st, 2013
Today I’m going to teach you how to make mini pizzas.  You can do this as we have here, with Greek pita bread, or you can use English muffins – Whatever is on hand!
Here’s what you’re going to need:
 – Greek pitas (the thick, chubby kind)
 – Tomato paste or sauce
 – Olive oil
 – Salt and pepper
 – Garlic powder
 – Oregano or Italian seasoning
 – Mozzarella cheese, shredded
 – Pepperoni, sliced (good, hard pepperoni is the best)
 – Assorted vegetables and other toppings, chopped or prepared as you like them
In addition to the above, you’ll want some baking sheets, an oven, and a good appetite.  ðŸ™‚
Today’s tutorial is going to feature a bunch of my younger siblings.  I’ve mentioned on here before that I have 11 siblings, 9 of whom are girls.  If you hadn’t caught that before, well, here it is again!  And now you’ll get to meet some of them.  ðŸ™‚
On the particular day that we made these pizzas, a whole bunch of us went to visit my sister Leah at her and her husband’s apartment, where we had the best kind of pizza party – They kind where you make the pizza yourself!
To start out, prep your ingredients.  Shred, chop, and mix your ingredients as you like ’em.
Next, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

For the sauce, you can either mix a bit of water and olive oil into some tomato paste to thin it, or you can just use pre-made tomato sauce with a bit of olive oil (not a lot – just a drizzle).  Season your tomato mixture with the salt, pepper, garlic, and oregano.

Spread the tomato sauce in a thin layer over the top of your pita bread, and top with shredded cheese.  Next add your toppings, and place the pizzas on a baking sheet.
Note:  We have lined the baking sheets with parchment paper in this tutorial, but this is only necessary if you want no-fuss cleanup… The pizzas will not stick unless the cheese is spilling off the sides.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and a little bit sizzling.  ðŸ™‚

And voila!  They’re done!  They’re also hot, so you might want to leave them a second before you dig in.

Super fast, easy, and quick to clean up.  We often make these on days when there isn’t much time to cook; everyone can make their own, however they like it best, and it’s always a fun time.

…And that’s it!

This post was brought to you by (some of) my siblings: Anna, Keturah, Leah, Tabithah, and Tirzah.  And Jon, but he didn’t want to be in the pictures.  ðŸ˜‰

They did a great job!

Happy pizza-ing!
