Everybody knows I have a weakness for pumpkins. Especially cute little ones – I always have to buy one at the beginning of the season, and even then… I usually end up with multiple of them in my possession throughout the season. I just can’t help it!
Anyway, it’s that time of year again, and I’m so excited! Pumpkins are everywhere, and those beautiful cool, crisp days are upon us. Every year, when this time comes, I get all nostalgic and full of whimsy and joy. The holidays are coming, the pumpkins have arrived, and my baker’s brain is all about buying pumpkins and making magical things out of them! I just… can’t decide what! There are too many options. Should I make something tried-and true? Or should I make something new?
So, here’s where you come in. I need your help! If you could pick something, anything, for me to post containing pumpkin, what would you suggest? Should I make pumpkin cinnamon rolls? Croissants? Bagels? Cake? Muffins? Bread? Sweet bread? Cheesecake? Or should we go for some savoury stuff, like soup, roasted pumpkin, or gnocchi? Or… something else?
What kinds of pumpkin things would YOU like to make this year– or would you like to see me make? Let me know. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Pumpkin soup. EVERYONE does so many sweets, which are good, but how about pumpkin soup. Usually people do butternut squash soup is what we see but not pumpkin soup very often. But, if it can’t be that I could use some pumpkin sticky buns, not cinnamon rolls, but sticky buns. THAT would be different. Or, how about pumpkin doggie treats. Pumpkin is VERY good for the doggies. I don’t think the kitties are all that fond of it but on multiple occasions the vet has recommended pumpkin. One thing I can’t remember seeing is pumpkin ice cream. How about pumpkin caramel ice cream? And the last one, pumpkin cupcakes with something in the middle, I keep thinking lemon curd but that’s not right, I know, apple butter and then top with cider buttercream frosting.
I love savoury pumpkin things, too. I have made pumpkin soup and a pasta sauce with pumpkin and they are so good! But I would like to see different recipes for those. I would also love to see a savoury pumpkin muffin or bread.
