Welcome Baby Girl <3

Coffee Dates, Family, Motherhood, Naomi, Quarantine Coffee Dates / Tuesday, August 11th, 2020

Well, it’s taken me a while to post this, but better late than never, right? Almost exactly a month ago, we welcomed our little baby girl in this world!

Faith Yvette Krasinkiewicz was born on July 13 at 8:58pm, weighing 6 lbs 9 oz, and measuring 20 inches long. She is beautiful, and her sweet little being has captured our hearts in ways we never could have quite imagined.

The Meaning of Her Name

The name Faith was not what we expected to choose for our first baby girl, but after taking one look at her, we both independently bumped that name from the bottom of our list up to the top. She just wasn’t any of the other names we’d picked; Faith was the one for her!

When picking out names for our kids, it was important for us to choose names with meanings that would act as a blessing from us to them, or a statement of our desire for their lives. People often live up to the meaning of their names, so we wanted to make sure to pick something that reflected our hope and desire for her.

Faith Yvette means “Faith Archer.” The image in my mind when I think of that is that she would be a woman who sends out the gift and beauty of faith in Christ like an archer, with life-penetrating accuracy and precision. When the gospel touches a person’s life, it “Penetrates to the heart” – and it changes you. May this little blessing be a woman of faith, and a woman who shares it in a way that impacts the lives of many others around her deeply and profoundly.

A Keepsake Memory from Her Birth

I am not sure if I want to share the whole story of her birth (I’ll let you weigh in on if you would like to read that or not), but I do want to record a keepsake memory, for my own sake.

When I think about labouring with Faith, the most overwhelming memory I have is my sweet husband, present with me, holding me, breathing with me, labouring with me. I honestly don’t know how I could have done it without him. He was 100% present, keeping me on track, supporting me in my pain, and keeping my eyes focused on the beauty of the goal in front of us. I am incredibly thankful. And I feel so much closer to him after that experience; just the memory of it has brought me to tears on several occasions since that day. Childbirth is a powerful experience. But being carried through it by a man who loves me so well was overwhelmingly sweet and beautiful. An incredible gift.

James, I love you. Thank you. <3

To the Mamas Who Deliver Alone

Pondering how much I felt like I needed James after Faith was born, it was heartbreaking to realize that there are some women who have to labour without that kind of support. But then the words of Christ came to my mind, as he hung on the cross to die for us, to “labour” for us, to DELIVER us, to give us the gift of new birth. He said these heartbreaking words: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matt. 27:46)

Cue the tears, again. God himself bore you and delivered you, and… He did it alone. Forsaken. So that you wouldn’t have to be.

You’re never alone, Mama. But even if you feel like you are – Remember: Jesus chose to deliver you from sin in a way that identifies with that grief. He knows your heart and your struggle.

Heb. 4:15a – “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses…”

I find so much comfort in realizing that He knows. He doesn’t ask us to live lives that he cannot comprehend or understand.

“He was despised and rejected by men,
    a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief
and as one from whom men hide their faces
    he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he has borne our griefs
    and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
    smitten by God, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions;
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
    and with his wounds we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:3-5

What a gift. <3

As always, thanks for reading. <3
