Here I am, sitting down for my afternoon coffee break as if I don’t have a care in the world (I’m a big huge fan of afternoon coffee breaks), and I realized… Shoot. Forgot to write anything to go with today’s recipe. Yup. Totally… forgot.

So, I’m a little tardy posting this one today, but I hope you won’t mind too much. I’m really quite sure that you won’t, but I like to imagine that I have a group of people who just sit at their internet devices every Monday waiting with baited breath to see what I’m going to post next… I’m sure it’s not true at all, but I like to think that it is. Helps motivate me to keep on making things, taking pictures of them, and sharing them with you.

Today’s recipe is for a super-duper-simple mango pineapple smoothie, which just so happens to be one of my favourite flavour combinations ever. It’s so packed with flavour, and, I think, is the perfect blend of sweet, smooth, and sour. I also love this kind of thing with peaches or guava, but just to keep it on the simple side (easier for limited available ingredients), this recipe is delicious just as it is – with only 4 ingredients.

If you’d like to see how to make it, read on!

Mango Pineapple Smoothie

This simple 4-ingredient smoothie can be ready in just a few minutes and is a delicious, refreshing summer treat. Use frozen fruit for best results.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mango chunks frozen
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks frozen
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or coconut milk, as a vegan option

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in high-powered blender. Pulse 3-4 times, and then blend until smooth.

Recipe Notes

This smoothie is best made with frozen fruit. If you don't have it frozen ahead of time, add 6 ice cubes* to this recipe, pulse 4-6 times, and then blend until smooth.

*The consistency of the drink will be thinner when it's made with ice cubes and fresh fruit.

As my sweet little niece Ila would have said in the not-so-distant past, “It’s alish-urce!” (delicious).

Cheers!
